THE R06 CONTROLLER OBSERVED A VFR TARGET, AT 3,600 FEET, ENTER THE EXPANDED AREA OF P40 FROM THE NORTHEAST, TRACKING SOUTHWEST BOUND. R06 CALLED HGR TOWER TO SEE IF THEY WERE IN COMMUNICATIONS WITH AN AIRCRAFT IN THAT LOCATION. INITIALLY, HGR TOWER REPLIED IN THE NEGATIVE. HOWEVER, DURING A SUBSEQUENT CALL FROM R06, HGR TOWER ADVISED THAT AN AIRCRAFT WAS CHECKING ON THEIR FREQUENCY AS THEY SPOKE AND THAT IT WAS THE AIRCRAFT IN QUESTION. R06 REQUESTED THAT HGR TOWER HAVE THE AIRCRAFT IDENT. UPON OBSERVING THE IDENT, R06 WAS ABLE TO CONFIRM THAT THE AIRCRAFT HGR'S TOWER WAS IN COMMUNICATIONS WITH, WAS THE TARGET WITHIN THE CONFINES OF THE EXPANDED AREA OF P40.
